Courses - more information

We teach in small groups (3 to 7 students) so you get as much tutor time as you need. The courses are held at our glass studio in Oxford with lunch included and gorgeous views across ancient meadow land thrown in!  If the weather is on our side we can have lunch on the terrace overlooking Port Meadow. With all courses we'll start the day with a coffee and a swift health and safety rundown. Followed by some short essential theory. Then we will help you to have fun with the glass, creating pieces with as much help as you need. You may like to bring drawings/ideas from home to help you make pieces. Advice and help will be available for planning simple designs and drawing these first if you wish to work in this way. We will load the pieces you make into the kilns as the day progresses and we will kick off the firing cycle before you go, pieces should then be ready for collection within 3 days. There is a possibility for you each to put a small piece into our test kiln which we will fire on a short cycle during the day to help you to envisage the results possible from kiln firing. We believe this to be a unique opportunity not usually available on glass fusing courses. Normally glass needs a much longer cycle to stabilise properly. The pieces on the quick fire cycle will just be tests as they may well shatter if kept in the long term.

The course will be a lot of fun and we do hope you'd like to join us. Click here for pictures from previous courses and here for comments from students
